The Thiele M4 manufactured 1959 is based on the famous Neumann M7 double-diaphragm capsule also as the Neumann U47 or the M49. Unlike these famous mics the Thiele does not need an external power-supply. It has a built in psu, like the bottle mic RFT CM7151. It also features cardioid and omni characteristics, which are switchable. Discreet tube-electronics with output-transformer. This M4 has been overhauled by a skilled tube-electronics expert and deliveres the best performance compared with other M4 is had before. Please keep in mind that this is a ca. 50 years old microphone that has not the lowest noise figures like a new Neumann microphone. The M4 is equipped with a small-tuchel microphone cable (replacement withXLR-connector on request).
